Barkevious Mingo has been arrested recently by the Arlington Police Department for alleged
"indecency with a child, sexual contact." This is a felony in Texas. With this charge, Mingo can face up to 20 years in prison.
As a result of this accusation, the Atlanta Falcons have terminated Barkevious Mingo on Saturday hours after it was reported he was arrested for alleged "indecency with a child."
Mingo was jailed at the Tarrant County jail before he was able to post a $25,000 bond Friday.
Mingo's attorney Lukas Garcia made a statement to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, stating that his client is innocent. He stated that the allegations are from over two years ago and implying that there may be an ulterior motive for the allegations. Garcia also stated that the charge was "completely baseless".
Falcons announced they decided to terminated his contract with a statement on Saturday:
After being made aware today of allegations involving Barkevious Mingo and gathering information on the matter, the Atlanta Falcons have terminated his contract.
