Lemon Water Benefits

I began drinking lemon water while I was prepping for a bodybuilding competition.  Honestly at that time I had no idea the purpose for drinking it.  It was suggested to me by a friend, and figured “what the hell I’ll try it”.  I always made sure that I had AT LEAST one gallon of water a day.  So it felt good to know that I could have something that had a little flavor in it.  At that time I had no idea how many benefits lemon water actually had.

Lemons are filled with nutrients, such as vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber. Lemons are also high in potassium.

Helps in the digestion process

Lemon juice helps the digestion process by softening toxins in your digestive tract, it assists in relieving the symptoms of indigestion such as burps, bloating and heartburn.

Prevents teeth from blemishing

Lemon juice is filled with antioxidants.  This allows the body to decrease in blemishes and wrinkles.   Some use lemon juice scars and age spots to reduce their appearance. This happens because it’s detoxifying your blood.

Weight Loss

Lemons are filled with pectin fiber.  Pectin fiber which helps reduce your hunger and cravings.

Increase Energy

Lemon juice give your body with energy when it goes through your digestive tract.  It also has shown to lower anxiety and depression.

Helps reduce caffeine addiction

Having a cup of hot lemon water helps energy.  You’ll have a smooth longer lasting energy.  You won’t have to worry about jitters, nerves or the dreaded caffeine crash.

Defends against viral infection

When lemon water is warm it is effective at reducing the risk of viral infections and sore throats.  With the lemon juice’s added benefit strengthening  the immune system, fighting off infections is an added bonus.

Lemon juice is filled with vitamin C.  Vitamin C obviously strengthens your immune system.

The vitamin C level in your body is normally one of the first things to drop when you’re stressed, which is why experts suggest taking vitamin C during  stressful days.

Lemon juice helps the body flush out the toxins while aiding in enzyme function which stimulates the liver.

Lemon aids in the battle against gingivitis while also helping to relieve toothaches. The citric acid can erode tooth enamel, either hold off on brushing your teeth after drinking lemon water or brush your teeth before drinking it.
